The Maplewood Memorial Library Foundation is currently seeking volunteer Board Members, particularly individuals with experience in social media, marketing, finance, accounting, website creation or nonprofit fundraising who are interested in supporting our Library and community.

Position Summary

Board Members provide leadership, guidance, and support to help the Foundation fulfill its mission. Members work collaboratively with fellow board directors, Library leadership, and community partners to raise funds, increase awareness, and ensure the long-term success of Foundation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in regular board meetings and Foundation events.

• Support fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and community outreach activities.

• Serve as an ambassador for the Foundation within the community.

• Assist with strategic planning and organizational development.

• Help identify opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and volunteer engagement.

• Participate on committees and special projects as needed.

• Promote Foundation activities through professional and personal networks.

• Support responsible stewardship of Foundation resources and adherence to nonprofit governance standards.

Preferred Skills and Experience

While not required, experience in one or more of the following areas is highly valued:

• Social media management, marketing, or communications

• Finance, accounting, bookkeeping, banking, or budgeting

• Technology, website design, maintenance and content management

• Fundraising and donor relations

• Nonprofit leadership or board service

• Event planning and community engagement

• Business development or strategic planning

Qualifications

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of volunteers and community stakeholders.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Willingness to contribute time, expertise, and enthusiasm to Foundation activities.

Time Commitment

Board Members typically attend regular board meetings and participate in Foundation events, fundraising activities, and committee work throughout the year.
